Take this sinking boat and point it home.

February 29, 2008

Falling Slowly by Glen Hansard (The Frames) & Marketa Irglova totally deserve the Oscar for Best Original Song.

take this sinking boat and point it home
we’ve still got time
raise your hopeful voice you had the choice
you’ve made it now

Swell stuff, isn’t it.

Anyways. How can I not post something on the oh-so-rare 29th February, huh?

Huh huh huh?

Oh look. Nice, juicy, green apple. Swell.

I am actively and happily procrastinating. Arrrgggghhh.

Okay bye. I don’t really know where the inclination to post all these gorgeously taken random pictures came from. Possibly because somehow, I coincidentally chanced across a few hundred of them in my laptop. Strange how they got there, don’t you think? Wonder what’s been going on.

Happy leaping, everyone.

Modernism is Dominant – but Dead.

February 28, 2008

An Entry on a Tree.

Don’t they just have the most wicked sense of humour.

Anyways, here is a chameleon in action.

I’ve been seeing one particular chameleon around school lately. It’s always paused halfway up its favourite tree. It has a orange head and a black swathe of colour around its neck.

And finally, here is something that I’d like to connect with the paper I’m currently on the verge of starting, but not quite.

(I’m not sure if I’m doing a swell job at it, since its supposed to be based on Modernity: An Unfinished Project.  Ya think?)

Anyways. Frozen moment of a dog (that happens to look extremely serious) in mid-air.

Modernity – it’s all about the new, the moment of novelty; and the immaculate moment that is always emerging, always becoming, and can never be captured on its own terms – only in retrospect.

What a retrospectively modern dog.

Sleepdriving.

February 23, 2008

I’m undergoing this really curious phase now.

Words that may have something to do with it -

1. Habermas

2. Faye Wong

3. Photoshop

4. Pixelmator (this is some really pretty shit.)

5. Gimp

6. Image/Graphic blogs

7. Reversi

8. Einstein

9. Mid-sem break

It doesn’t help that I have an overactive mind that tends to, somehow, function in retrograde directions.

Anyways, I’m completely fixated with Pixelmator. It’s the most gorgeous graphic editing programme ever. I will purchase it one day, I will. Right now I’ll just contend myself with the limited trial version. Ugh.

So I’ve been geeking it out. It must be the post-photoshop workshop effects. I have re-awakened that dormant addiction of trawling the web for photoshop tutorials, editing freeware, and stock images – all with the intention of prepping myself for that elusive day where I have, besides the appropriate music, electricity supply, editing software and knowledge, time.

I am also trying to beat the computer at an easy game of Reversi. I know. Pathetic isn’t it.

Is there a job that allows me to indulge in my rather diverse fixations and at the same time, indulge me with some good, decent and regular dough?

Yeah? I thought so too.

Nice, contemplative, random image.

A Taste of Poison Paradise.

February 17, 2008

Stevie Ann’s acoustic cover of Britney’s Toxic, is da shitz. And so are these awesomely gorgeous people here. You guys are all da smelliest shitz, too. ♥

I know, it’s a rather belated picture. But hey, better late than never, eh. Heh, grabbed these pictuers from Angie. F’anksss! Yay to many more meetups! So fun can. OH YES. And a belated thanksss for the birthday vouchers! :) I’ve used them joyfully already. Heh. And yes, no photoshop done too. Seems like the editing bug is no longer bugging me.

Hmm.

Check out those spiffy black-rimmed glasses!

Courtesy of Anne’s, of course. :) Doesn’t she look like a bad-ass teacher who’ll whip you if you misbehave? Yeah, thought so too.

Geog Rocks.

Yawn. Here’s Cher and I sharing some sweet moments. LOL. Hush.

Snort.

School is sucking me in like a damp, dark and cold vortex. Sigh.

Sponge and Barnes cannot wait for 14th March. :)

Hurry Sondre, hurry.

Have You Tried Something New Today?

February 1, 2008

Shit. I have this sudden longing for Sainsbury’s. I miss it very, very much. :(
